hotelkhaolak.com is an independent guide to Khao Lak and the Andaman coast. We are a publisher, not a travel agency. We do not take payment, hold rooms, or arrange anything on your behalf — every booking finishes on the hotel or operator’s own site, under their terms.

When you follow one of our links and book, the merchant pays us a share of what they earn. That is the whole business model. There is no charge to you and no markup on the rate.

Who pays us, today

Earning today: None; Our hotel partner Hotellook closed in October 2025. Nothing on this site currently earns us anything.
Hotel links go to: Booking.com; Wired up and not yet earning — the account is still being set up, so these links pay us nothing for now.
Also wired, not earning: Viator · Klook · 12Go · Agoda · Tiqets · Welcome Pickups; Links exist in code but no bookings route to them yet.
You pay: Nothing extra; Commission comes out of the merchant’s margin, not your price.
We hold: No rooms, no payments; Every booking completes on the partner’s own site.

What it does not buy

What a commission does not change

A partner cannot pay to appear here, to rank higher, or to be described more warmly. Nobody reviews our copy before it is published. We have turned down nothing so far because nobody has asked — and if that changes, this paragraph changes with it.

Where we get something wrong, we would rather hear it and fix it. The Similan and Surin parks close for the monsoon every year, and we say so on the homepage even though it costs us bookings, because a guide that only tells you the profitable half is not worth reading.

The things people ask

Does a commission change which hotels you show me?

No. Every hotel on this site is listed because it is somewhere real people stay in Khao Lak and the surrounding provinces, and the order is not sold. We would rather tell you a place is wrong for you than earn once and lose you.

Do I pay more by booking through your links?

No. The rate is the partner’s own rate. Our commission is paid by the merchant out of their margin. If you found a cheaper price elsewhere, take it — and tell us, because that is useful information.

Are the prices on this site live?

No. The rates shown on our pages come from our own catalogue and move constantly, which is why they are labelled “rates from”. The authoritative price is whatever the partner shows you after you click through. Treat ours as a starting point for comparison, never as a quote.

What happens when I click a booking link?

You go through a redirect on this site that adds our partner ID, then straight out to the merchant. We log that a click happened and which page it came from. We do not attach your name, email or IP to it, and we never see your booking or payment details.

Do you write reviews of places you have not been?

No. Where we describe a place first-hand we say so. Where we are summarising what is verifiably true — how far it is, when the park is open, what a room costs — we say that instead. We do not publish invented reviews or star ratings.
